Pampers: The Best Way to Keep Your Baby Dry and Happy
16 Oct 2017
As parents we all want our little ones to thrive in every way. We want them to be happy, to move and play as much as possible, to eat well and to sleep soundly for optimal growth and development.
One of the simplest ways to ensure that your child is happy and free to explore the world is to invest in good-quality diapers that’ll keep your little one dry, day and night. In fact, it’s one of the first things we’re told to check when our babies cry because being cold and wet is just not comfortable. Experts also believe that one of the biggest culprits of early morning wake-ups (anywhere between 4am and 6am) in older babies and toddlers is leaking nappies which can make children feel particularly cold and wet in the early hours.
Why Lisa Loves Pampers
“There’s a good reason they call Pampers the driest South African diaper,” says Mumentoes founder, Lisa Raleigh. “We have been using Pampers diapers since Bella was a newborn and we’ve never had an instance where she’s woken up too early from a nap or at 4am because of a soaking wet nappy,” says Lisa. “What I’ve found is that the Pampers brand certainly does live up to its promise of keeping baby dry for up to 12 hours. And at the end of the day, this is what you really want from your chosen diaper,” she adds. “There’s no point in diapers being comfortable, breathable or affordable when they aren’t doing their primary job as well as they need to. This is why I’ve stuck with Pampers as long as I have.”
Total Dryness – Day and Night
There’s a lot of thought, science and expertise that go into the making of Pampers diapers, and that’s what makes their products so reliable. For instance, the Active Baby-Dry diapers contain absorbent micro pearls that hold up to 30 times their weight, as well as a top dry-layer and extra sleep-layer. The top dry-layer is in constant contact with your baby’s skin, and has been designed to pull liquid away as fast as possible to maintain dryness.
And thanks to the extra sleep-layer, your baby won’t wake up from a wet nappy. This is because the extra layer is designed to absorb even more wetness while your baby is snoozing and spreads it evenly across the core of the nappy so that your little one stays comfortable and unaffected.
Support Through Movement
The Active Baby-Dry diaper is not only designed to handle more movement of a growing and inquisitive baby, but more mess in the nappy as well. “I am one of the lucky moms whose child never has nappy rash!” Lisa says. “And I’m pretty sure that’s because Bella never has to sit in a wet nappy and even when it’s full, she’s still comfortable and plays happily.” The stretchy sides of this design also keep the nappy snug on your baby’s body so that there’s no chance of a leak, but they’re still comfy enough to allow kids to do what kids do- and that’s crawl, run, swing, climb and jump, to name a few.
“As a family we really enjoy the outdoors, and sometimes we’ll be at the beach or playing in a park for hours. I also like to go for 10km runs with Bella in the running stroller, and now that I think about it, we’ve rarely had to stop mid-way through an activity for a nappy change,” adds Lisa. “It’s one less thing I have to worry about and we can just enjoy playtime,” she says. “I love the fact that I can trust Pampers to lock in wetness and keep Bella happy, regardless of what we’re doing.”
Mom and Dad’s Job
While Pampers diapers are designed to keep your little one dry for up to 12 hours, it’s also important that you follow these steps when putting on the diaper, to avoid a possible leakage:
Choose the Right Size. Often diapers leak because they don’t fit snugly enough around your baby or they’re too small and don’t provide enough “coverage”. Pampers experts say that in most cases, your baby should be within the weight range for the size you’re using. However, babies are all different shapes and sizes so it’s okay if your little one is outside of the range but the nappy fits, you can use your own judgement.
Make Sure the Fit is Right. This goes hand in hand with choosing the right size. Your baby’s diaper needs to fit snugly around the waist and be pulled up properly so it sits just under the belly button. Leaks can also happen if the cuffs aren’t pulled out properly. These should wrap neatly around your baby’s legs and bottom to lock in any poop or urine.
Also make sure that the tapes are fastened securely and that you line them up with the coloured landing strip on each side of the diaper.
