Lisa Raleigh using Healing Earth eco-friendly beauty products

If you’re on the hunt for new natural, eco-friendly products that not only smell incredible, but are good for your skin and the planet too, you’re in for a treat with a local brand I discovered.

A little while ago my hubby and I visited the beautiful Sky Villas Boutique Hotel in Plettenberg Bay, and we came across the most indulgent, eco-friendly range of beauty products that I just had to know more about – called Healing Earth. Initially I thought the body care products were only available in hotels and resorts, so you can imagine my delight when I realised that I could have them in my home too!

About the eco-friendly Healing Earth products

Founded by global spa guru, Elisabeth Brandt, the Healing Earth range is all about skincare at it’s purest with the best active ingredients that are naturally derived and sustainably developed.

Elisabeth also says, "We advocate a nurturing, conscious approach to beauty based on love for oneself, one's fellow beings and the Earth we live on."

I love that Healing Earth is a local, eco-friendly brand that’s made in South Africa, and not tested on animals. Each product is beautifully packaged in glass (sustainable) bottles and not only looks great on a bathroom shelf, it’s also kinder to the planet too.

Each product is also free from:

  • Parabens
  • Synthetic fragrances
  • Preservatives
  • Chemicals

The blend of Fairtrade botanicals, shea butters and soothing aromatherapy oils used in each product range, work so well together to nourish and hydrate the skin. And the sensual experience you get after smelling each product is just heavenly! It’s not often that my hubby and I fall in love with the same beauty products, but when it comes to Healing Earth, we’re both sold.

The range

All Healing Earth products have a host of anti-ageing benefits and healing properties thanks to the unique blend of antioxidants in each formulation.

They’ve also been carefully made to suit your specific needs, which I like, because we’re all different after all. For instance, I suffer from dry skin in Gauteng – regardless of the season, so I’m always looking for hydrating products for my face and body.

If you’re looking for hydration

Choose

The Kalahari Melon products

Why?

Kalahari melon has been used for centuries by the San people for its hydrating and healing properties. It’s also high in omega-6 oil, which is easily absorbed by the body.

If you’re looking for detoxification

Choose

The Mongongo Nut products

Why?

Each product is enriched with vitamin E and linoleic acid, as well as juniper, fennel and basil. I love this range because it works well with a clean diet and exercise programme (such as rebounding) to eliminate toxins from the body.

If you’re looking for sculpting and toning

Choose

The Coffee, Cinnamon & Orange products

Why?

This range is packed with bold, energising ingredients to tone and firm the skin. The ingredients also help to reduce cellulite, bonus!

If you're looking for ultimate relaxation

Choose

The Marula & Neroli products

Why?

These products have the most relaxing, soothing scent (thanks to lavender and neroli) that’ll instantly make you feel calm. And, an additional benefit of this range is that it contains 4 times the amount of vitamin C than a regular orange. As a result, the products have skin brightening benefits.

If you're looking for nourishment and healing

Choose

Grape Pinotage Body Care

Why?

I discovered that Healing Earth are known as industry leaders in vinotherapy. This is where by-products of wine are used and recognised for their healing and skin rejuvenating properties. Their Grape Pinotage Range contains a potent blend of antioxidants – and after using the body products in this range for just a few weeks, I immediately noticed my skin looked brighter and healthier.

Some of my favourite Healing Earth products

With my busy, active lifestyle, I must admit that I indulge in a full body massage once a month. I have a wonderful masseuse who comes to my house every month and she gets rid of all my tension in my shoulders, neck and back in one go.

We recently started using the Healing Earth essential oils in my massages, and they’re so wonderful, I’ll never look back. Each body oil has different benefits and I switch them around, depending on what I need to gain from the massage.

Here are a few I use regularly:

  • Grape Pinotage - Relax and De-Stress Body Oil
  • Coffee, Cinnamon, Orange - Body and Bath Oil
  • Mongongo Nut - Body Oil

I also use the Kalahari Melon Hydrating Body Balm daily as it absorbs easily into my skin and doesn’t leave an oily residue, yet it’s intensely nourishing. It’s amazing on the heels, elbows and any dry patches of skin.
