A lot of thought, detail and impressive talent went into crafting these African Alchemy Reversible Tights and their remarkable design. The first design has the most gorgeous proteas, our proudly South African national flower! Proteas are known to symbolise strength, tenacity and thriving even in harsh environments – which resonates with the spirit of South African women, known for our adaptable and resilient nature in the face of challenges. These flowers, despite this tenacity, are also supremely beautiful and feminine!

On the other side, the design is a vibrant tapestry of geometric shapes and bold colours that captures the spirit and cultural significance of the Ndebele tribe of South Africa. It's a harmonious fusion of tradition, modernity and all-things proudly South African. The print's array of lines, rectangles, and circles is a nod to the intricate beadwork and mural art that Ndebele women are renowned for. Adapting this aesthetic speaks volumes about strength and beauty, reflecting the resilience and creative power of women!

Both of these stunning designs predominantly include shades of our Body Kind founder, Lisa Raleigh’s favourite colour, purple; as well as featuring shades of blue, pink, white and sea green, making them incredibly easy to mix and match. Both designs on these leggings were also locally created, by the extremely talented female artist, Monja Spies! Coming from a talented family of artists herself, Lisa is incredibly passionate about supporting and empowering local artistry with Body Kind. With both prints being such strong representations of African pride, heritage and femininity, we couldn’t think of a better name than “African Alchemy”.
